First Past The Post (FPTP).
The voter has a choice. Is this the foundation for good decision making? Many political parties will not settle for this when they elect their leaders and candidates they support. Nobody makes important decisions by plurality. Why? Because if you did, good people will leave and your organization will fall apart (unless they have nowhere else better to go). Decisions in Parliament, the provincial legislatures and municipalities all across Canada are made with one simple democratic tool and one fundamental democratic principle ... let's have a vote and the majority rules! If it's good enough for them, and everyone says it's the way we do democracy ... then something's missing when common unelected Canadians at every level of participatory democracy are given the opportunity to make a decision together. Isn't it obvious? One X is not enough. |
