Approval and Preference (a preferential ballot).The voter gets to state a sequence of preference within approval. There are several ways to offer this choice. Ranking by numbers is shown above. A similar vote may be cast by listing, left to right in order of rank. the example would be written as "Candidate B, Candidate A, Candidate D". Another way to write the vote is to use a pair-wise voting string which looks like arithmetic. The example appears as "Candidate B > Candidate A > Candidate D". Ranking may also be offered on a grid ballot, left to right, which can use an X (as per the above example, an equivalent grid vote is shown below). |
