Last Chance Recounts (IRV+/-).

The "+/-" extension reads as "more or less" or "plus minus".

The spoiler problem that haunts IRV can be fixed with a little help from the candidates. After all, are we not voting for someone or something promoted by someone that will be making decisions for us after the election? In many organizations, an official somebody breaks a tie when it occurs. Everybody doesn't vote again. In IRV+/-, "relative ties" occur when the spoiler problem shows up, it is the IRV Runner-up and possibly the IRV Winner who are in official positions to break these relative ties.

IRV results give voters a more popular result than FPTP. But on occasion, it will sacrifice the most popular result. Click on the "watch IRV+/-" button to see a slide show of last chance recounts as applied to this election, or click on "walk IRV+/-" to step through the same process.
